Pertemps Powerboat Team named as champions

Cleared for Take OffSunday 10th September saw the Pertemps powerboat team, John Wilson (from Coleshill) and his navigator Neil Scarborough crowned as 2011 British Champions for the P1 SuperStock 250 championship. This was the second time they had been named champions after the duo won last year’s P1 150 Class.

The crew who are sponsored by recruitment consultancy Pertemps won Britain’s biggest powerboat racing title by four points. The team performed consistently throughout the championship, which took place from June to September, scoring three outright wins, three podium finishes and a fourth place in Cowes, to secure this year’s title.

Team captain John Wilson said of the win: ““To become the inaugural champions of the new P1 250 series is a very special feeling and to have won back-to-back titles makes it even more satisfying. Neil and I knew how competitive the series would be with all the boats built and powered to the same specification. We worked very hard with lots of practice behind the scenes to hone the skills that would give us the edge to win. We started as novices, in 2008, and now four years later we are double champions which is a fantastic achievement for us.

“We would also like to take this opportunity to thank Pertemps for their sponsorship. It has been great having their backing. Their enthusiasm and support has been fantastic. We have really enjoyed working with them and we are looking forward to continuing the successful partnership in 2012.”

Sponsors Pertemps are one of the largest independent recruitment consultancies in Britain and are celebrating their 50th anniversary.
