Recruitment consultants from Pertemps in Wrexham recently took part in a It’s a knockout style challenge and raised over £1000 for their local hospice Nightingale House Hospice.
Nigtingale House Hospice provides specialist palliative care services, completely free-of-charge, to patients and their families across an area stretching from Wrexham, Flintshire and East Denbighshire to Barmouth and the border towns including Oswestry and Whitchurch.
The team from the branch located on Regent Street decided to raise money for the hospice after a number of staff had had family members use the services.
Claire Davies regional manager said; “We chose Nightingale house hospice as some of the team know people who have been treated there. It is an excellent hospice that not only helps terminally ill patients but also do things for the family members such as bereavement counselling for children, they have a range of activities for patients such as hairdressers, wood making and a hydrotherapy pool all provided free off charge, which is amazing but they have to raise over £2.5 million every year to keep going and we wanted to make a contribution to this.”
The teams It’s a knockout day saw staff and their families come together to take part in activities such as jump through wet bouncy castles, dance in the rain and run through pools of water.
Claire continues; “It was a really fun day, the activities were brilliant and we just generally made fools of ourselves whilst raising money for a great organisation”
