On Thursday the Burton branch of recruitment consultancy Pertemps visited the local army careers office to present a cheque for £300 to Help for Heroes. The branch raised the money through its Give As You Earn (GAYE) scheme.
Pertemps who are one the largest independent recruitment agencies in Britain encourage staff to give one pound per week from their salaries to take part in dress down Friday. Each branch can then donate the money to the charity of its choice.
Becci Stretton a consultant at the branch said: “We decided to donate to Help for Heroes as not only is it a wonderful organisation doing fantastic work but also my partners brother is currently training in Reading through the army careers division in Burton to go into aviation, so it is a cause close to my heart.”
Volunteer co-ordinator for Burton Diane Howe said: “We would like to say thank you to Pertemps for their donation. We really appreciate all contributions made as everything helps toward the work that Help for Heroes does in supporting members of the Armed Forces who have been wounded in the service of their country.”
Formed in 1961 Pertemps are celebrating 50 years in recruitment and is one of the largest independent consultancies in Britain.
