Situated only ten miles from central London, Harrow is a green and leafy retreat from inner city London. The borough of Harrow was formed in 1934 as an urban district of Middlesex. The local authority at that time was called Harrow Urban District Council.
In 1965 the municipal borough was abolished and its former area was transferred to Greater London from Middlesex to form the London Borough of Harrow.
The borough is renowned for the world-famous Harrow school, which Winston Churchill and seven other Prime Ministers attended. It has also nurtured the creative talents of everyone from Lord Byron and Anthony Trollope to Sir Elton John and James Blunt. Slumdog Millionaire star, Dev Patel, is also a Harrow resident.
The Council continually works to improve its services. It uses a range of information to identify both where it is performing well and where it needs to make more progress.
Pertemps has been working with Harrow Council since 2003.
