HEAD-HUNTING BOOST FOR RAIL WORKERS
A new Midland business start-up has joined forces with recruitment giant Pertemps to offer a one-stop-shop for rail and construction workers seeking jobs throughout the UK.
Network Construction Services, which offers a nationwide service from its Telford base, specialises in the recruitment of predominantly blue-collar workers into the rail and construction industries.
NCS is one of more than 90 associate companies within the Meriden-based Pertemps Group, which was established in 1961.
Sandy Palmer, NCS's Managing Director, is a Chartered Civil Engineer with more than 20 years' experience in the construction and rail industries. Prior to joining the Pertemps Group, Sandy ran a similar organisation for Carillion plc.
He said: "Our association with Pertemps effectively makes us a one-stop shop, with rail recruits able to tap into a nationwide network of branches. Our clients will also benefit from being able to fill all their recruitment vacancies via one source."
Sandy added: "We will be taking advantage of the growing demand for blue-collar rail and construction workers to expand our business rapidly, and we hope to open additional offices shortly in London, Bristol, Manchester, York and Glasgow."
Tim Watts, Pertemps Chairman, said: "We are delighted to welcome NCS to the Pertemps Group and look forward to a mutually beneficial partnership."
