 | Pertemps has been recognised by the government for tackling age discrimination in the workplace, becoming one of approximately 100 Age Positive Employer Champions in the UK.
The Age Positive campaign is a government initiative designed to tackle age discrimination at work. Employer Champion status is awarded to organisations that show commitment to tackling ageism in the workplace and who take practical steps to change their employment practices ahead of the 2006 legislation on the subject.
Gill Harvey, Senior HR and D Partner at Pertemps, said: 'Becoming an Employer Champion is a great acknowledgement of the work we’ve always done to support age diversity.'
'But we can always improve on this record, and consultants in particular should be aware of the huge, untapped market for mature workers across all recruitment sectors. An Age Positive approach can increase morale, improve recruitment and retention, widen the skills base and ultimately improve the bottom line. It’s something we’ve been to keen to nurture within our own culture and must continue to promote strongly among our clients. As the UK population gets older, it’s going to become an absolutely crucial market for recruiters – so let’s make sure we stay ahead of the game.' |
