"As Chair of the SIA House Capital Appeal, I feel gratified that the labours of the past three years have resulted in this superb new home for the Spinal Injuries Association.
In 2002, I was extremely interested to hear about SIA’s vision for a fully-accessible, environmentally-sustainable centre from which to take their work forward. But at the same time learned that shockingly few spinal cord injured people are able to access employment after their injury. Being Chair of the Pertemps Investment Group, which incorporates over 100 employment agencies within the UK, these facts were hardhitting and impossible to accept.

It was clear that the SIA House venture would result in a completely accessible workplace for SCI and other disabled people, and would be a model of good practice for all employers across the UK, showing how accessible employment for disabled people can be achieved. Therefore giving my support and commitment to this project was unquestionable.
It has been a privilege to be associated with such a visionary and worthwhile organisation, and I will look forward to being part of SIA’s future successes, while established in these unique headquarters."
