Employee headaches

Local recruitment specialists Aviation Resource and local law firm Sherrards Employment Law Solicitors recently teamed up to deliver a free seminar to business across the Heathrow area and to provide an insight into the growing nightmares of employment law legislation.

The event was very well attended and provided over 35 Managers and HR Professionals with two hours of crucial and practical advice.

Kully Sandhu, Commercial Director of Aviation Resource said: "Our seminar was designed to provide businesses with an overview of the legal pitfalls whilst advising on to how to implement and manage changes to policies and procedures which come about as a direct result of such changes in the law."

The combination of solicitor and HR consultant provided the perfect foundation for a successful seminar. Professional Administrators Day brought to Bristol

Professional Administrators Day takes place this year on Wednesday 25th April and recognises the achievements and hard work of administration and clerical staff.

The day was first celebrated in 1952 in America and was originally known as Secretary’s Day. This year Recruitment Moves have decided to bring it across the Atlantic to the UK.

Recruitment Moves, the permanent recruitment division of Pertemps in central Bristol, have organised a whole week of events and initiatives dedicated solely to acknowledging the efforts of administrative and clerical workers in the area.

One such event that will take place is an award for ‘Best Professional Administrator’ in which Pertemps will ask companies in Bristol to nominate an Administrative worker who they believe has ‘gone the extra mile’ or excelled in their position who will be in with the chance of winning a superb prize!

The Management Team at Pertemps will judge all nominations and the prize will be awarded to the successful nominee on Wednesday 25th April 2007, Professional Administrators Day.

The week’s events in Central Bristol are being co-ordinated by experienced, specialist consultant – Sophie Simmonds who runs the Permanent Office Support/Secretarial desk covering the Central Bristol area.

Sophie said: “These are the workers who are at the heart of almost every organisation but are so often overlooked. Hopefully this will raise awareness to employers of the importance Professional Administrative staff play in the smooth running of their businesses.”

Pertemps is one of the UK’s leading independent recruitment agencies and was recently listed as one of the Sunday Times Top 100 companies for 2007.
