 PERTEMPS CHALLENGE JO TO TREK FOR ACORN |

 Pertemps have helped ITV presenter Jo Malinís fundraising efforts by presenting her with a cheque for £400.00..
Jo, plus an ITV cameraman and 14 others, are heading off to the Grand Canyon on 16 June to walk 100km and raise money for Acorns Children Hospice Charity.
Acorns Childrenís Hospice runs 3 hospices for limited children across the Midlands region. The Government gives the trust just 20% of the running costs leaving a massive 80% to be raised through fundraising opportunities every year.
The walk is no mean feat. The fundraisers will trek 3000 feet down into the Canyon to a base camp on the Havasupai Indian Reservation where they will live in tents. Temperatures in the Canyon can be as high as 45 degrees Celsius during the day but very cold at night.
Jo Malin said: "I have been doing lots of walking since the beginning of the year and next week on Central Tonight you will see me acclimatising in an environmental chamber at the English Institute of Sport to prepare for this challenge. I am very grateful to Pertemps and all the many other organisations and donators who have helped me raise over £9,000 for the charity."
Pertemps Chairman Tim Watts further boosted monies raised when he funded a gamble and donated the £300.00 winnings on a horse picked by Jo Malin herself. "I was delighted the horse I picked won to help raise even more money for Acorns! In fact, I was dancing around the newsroom! continued Jo." |
