Responsibilities - To provide legal support with income collection and cessation of duty for Enfield council, helping maintain temporary accommodation.
- The role will involve liaising with managing agents, landlords and solicitors
- To work with Income recovery officers to instigate and progress cases legally, including NTQ’s NoSP, NoPP, Particulars of Claim, up to eviction
- To attend Court on behalf of the Council for all court hearings related to the eviction process triggered by rent arrears, landlord handbacks and / or legal disrepair.
- To support with ASB, Abandonment and subletting cases taking action and preparing cases for court action and representing the organisation at court and evictions
- To contribute to delivery of internal Housing Services’ processes that fall within the rent and income and cessation of duty team’s remit – should the terms with agents change this role will manage the eviction
RequirementsSpecialist knowledge of court protocol and legislation relating to possession
- Knowledge and awareness of Local Government operating processes and decision-making processes and the ability to operate in that environment
- Knowledge of Housing Benefit and regulations
- Knowledge of recent housing issues and government initiatives
- Knowledge of the principles behind case management
- UK drivers licence and access to a vehicle with insurance
- Experience working with housing associations or councils
Contract - Initial 3 to 6 month ongoing contract with the opportunity to extend
- PAYE via Umbrella
- Full time position Monday to Friday 9am to 5pm
