Maintenance Engineer - Materials Handling Systems

Fabulous opportunity for an experienced Multiskilled Maintenance Engineer to join one of the UK's leading company's. Candidates of interest will have experience within a fast paced Materials Handling environment (Conveyors, Sorters etc.)

Starting Salary £29,453 rising to £32,000 after successful probationary period + Overtime
Full Time Permanent 37.5 hours per week, This role is predominantly a day shift working Monday to Friday but the successful candidate will be expected to cover shifts as and when required.

 Role Purpose

" To maintain and to optimise the performance of the Materials Handling System (MHS) and associated equipment. The maintenance engineer will maintain a proactive and flexible approach to breakdown prevention and the assurance of high equipment availability.
" As a key member of the Hub team and you will develop and maintain customer relationships with key internal customers and suppliers, understanding the view and needs of the customers & operation.
" To assess, diagnose and solve a variety of complex faults, use our maintenance system to record work carried out and maintain asset and stock control.
" To supervise engineers, contractors, engineering cleaners and trainees assigned to you and carry out "on the job" coaching and support to all Hub employees as required
" To provide cover for leave, sick and training as and when required

" Able to motivate your shift team and allocate work accordingly, work on own initiative or as part of a team
" Computer literate in the use of MS Office products including outlook, use of any other proprietary software and a keen interest in technological progress & latest technologies
" Excellent inter-personal, communication and leadership skills
" Advanced problem solving and proactive in sharing knowledge with others
" Have an awareness of latest maintenance tools and techniques
" Have an in-depth knowledge of operational; requirements and aims.
" Have knowledge of PLC's

" NVQ level 3/ONC  in Engineering or equivalent in electronic, electrical or mechanical engineering
" Full clean UK driving licence

" Engineering maintenance background for at least 5 years
" Completion of recognised engineering apprenticeship (preferable)
" Be able to work in a multi-skilled environment

" Have an in depth knowledge of Health & Safety legislation
" Have experience in materials handling equipment, systems and technology
" Will understand the role of engineering in an automated processing plant
