A successful and growing international manufacturer of complex automotive components and assemblies is seeking an experienced Pressings Engineer to support group wide BIW pressing and tooling issues. The organization is experiencing a rapid period of growth and investment and is capitalizing on the current expansion of global automotive sales.

This is a key position within this international group that will be based primarily in their Shropshire facility but will also be required to provide support to other UK plants as required. The individual will support projects within the group manufacturing engineering department and other sites in the planning and engineering of the facility development for both existing and new equipment.
The role will also lead the development of a standard group-wide technical standard for the press tooling and capital plant / facility equipment.
o Provide feasibility support for new press and press shop facility projects
o Generation of technical RFQ's for new or modified plant and facility equipment
o Support Purchase department in the analysis of quotations for equipment and facilities
o Carry out feasibility/cost studies to establish potential facility improvements across the business
o Review proposals for new / modified facility / press engineering programmes and develop detailed proposals
o Develop a company-wide Standard documents for press and facility equipment specification and compilation / checking/ distribution / updating of these documents
Qualifications and Aptitudes.
To be successful in this role you will already have several years experience working in a Metal Stamping or Press Tooling expert with a strong background in automotive BIW industry.
Key Experiences and Qualifications:
o Good understanding of all aspects of metal stamping processes, press specifications, press tooling, press automation and press control systems
o Experience in automotive BIW manufacturing environment, with particular emphasis on stamping equipment and associated facilities
o Ability to work from a blank piece of paper and develop feasibility proposals including budgetary costings and project timings
o Good project management, health & safety and contractor management experience
o Flexibility to travel and work overseas if necessary
