Business Solutions Officer - Temporary
Job Title Business Solutions Officer
Reports To Performance Manager (Work Management)
Use data analysis and stake holder engagement to identify areas of improvement, gaps in reporting and inefficiencies in processes.
Determine appropriate value adding solutions and convert them into project charters for ALT / Executive approval and subsequent delivery.
Ensure the end to end development of software and reporting solutions.
Maintenance and development of the WGA SQLVBA data warehouse, application, automation and reporting suite.
Key Accountabilities Management Information
Manage collation, distribution and development of MI to support the delivery of KPIs, Regulatory Reporting and other reporting requirements, including multi-year seed classification (MYSCA) and workload projection (MAT).
Proactively develop custom visualisations and reports to aid in decision making and provide insight.
Ensure data compliance and integrity within the delivery of the above.
Ensure the frequency, accuracy and format of reports maximises their impact on regulatory compliance.
Complete post implementation reviews to demonstrate the impact and benefit of completed improvement projects
Assist the ALT with design and delivery of ad-hoc reporting requirements.
Ensure the aggregation of data from multiple sources into an efficient data warehouse.
Design enterprise-level solutions for a large multi-dimensional database.
Ensure that debugging, monitoring and troubleshooting activities for BI solutions are delivered in a timely manner, in accordance with SLAs.
Scope, design, implement, and document new scalable extract, transform and load processes, pipelines, pathways and dimensional data models.
Proactively identify areas needing improvement and support the generation of project charters
Translation of and simplification of business requirements.
Investigate and analyse business activities and processes in order to improve business efficiency and to achieve cost reduction.
Producing Predictive / Prescriptive analytics to the business to respond to historical trends
Document and analyse the needs of the business to achieve the organisation's strategic and operational goals.
Evaluate and prioritise potential solutions against cost vs benefit criteria.
Develop and implementation of tactical software applications that fulfil urgent business needs
Ensure robust documentation and ongoing maintenance of existing software and future creations.
Dimensions 20,000+ lines of code across 40+ applications, automations and reports.
The need to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders across WWU and their partner organisations.
The regulatory definition and workload tracking of the Mains Replacement programme.
Technical Know-How & Skills
Excellent problem solving skills and ingenuity.
Track record of innovation.
Advanced T-SQL Development (Including cursors, common table expressions, stored procedures and fuzzy matching).
Expert user in a variety of business processes and systems
Thorough understanding of business priorities & regulatory requirements.
Ability to deal with a wide variety of tasks, whilst meeting strict deadlines.
Excellent administrative, oral, written and communication skills.
Able to clearly present requirements and solutions to various parties using a range of techniques.
Self-driven with an ability to thrive in a dynamic environment.
