Job Description

A leading supplier of heavy building materials in the UK is seeking an experienced Estimator for their contracting department in Leicestershire.

The successful candidate will be required to evaluate tender documents, prepare accurate cost estimates and submit tenders and quotations. Maintain good customer and supply chain communication providing advice and guidance.

Key accountabilities include:

Maintain and develop relationships with existing and potential customers.

Build up the cost of allocated tenders and quotes.

Liaise with Operational and QS staff in quote/tender preparation where necessary.

Ensure contract requirements and terms and conditions do not place the company at risk. Participate, as required, on selected quality submissions and similar.

Interrogate performance on Contracts against estimate and propose improvements to systems and procedures.

Maintain regular communication with selected customers to establish: a. Prospective works b. Position on financial submissions. c. Early notification of awards

Generally promote the company in a professional and courteous manner to achieve preferential information and treatment.

The ideal candidate for the role will be well organised, have the ability to multitask and prioritise a workload effectively. Strong numerical and literacy skills are required and you must be a confident communicator both in written and verbal form.

Working Weekly Hours: 40.00 hours Mon to Fri 8.30am to 5.30pm
