Our client in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Trusts and Personal Tax Executive to join its team. As the Trusts and Personal Tax Executive you will play an integral part of the Tax and Trust team. You will be required to provide high level tax advice and computations, for both personal and trust matters.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:

" Completion of Personal Tax returns
" Completion of and assisting colleagues with income tax and capital gains tax compliance
" Completion of the deceased's lifetime tax
" Dealing with tax queries from Overseas clients to include Domicile and Residency issues
" Administration of Trusts
" Preparation of IHT 100 forms for Relevant Property Trusts
" Liaising with trustees and other professionals to build a rapport to develop a clear understanding of the trust objectives
" Attending Trustees' meetings as required
" Actively anticipating trust events and considering all planning opportunities from both a tax perspective as well as beneficiary entitlements and circumstances
" Working with Partners of the Firm as trust/client relation managers.
" Proactively managing trust
" Reporting to Partners of the firm acting in their capacity as Trustees
" Timely completion of trust tax returns and dealing with HMRC
" Preparation of tax certificates
" Income and Capital Gains Tax advice & calculations
" Assisting with maintenance of CGT records re investment histories
" Timely completion of inheritance tax returns including relevant property trust forms and dealing with HMRC
" Organising payments of tax to HMRC
" FATCA (Foreign Account Tax Compliance Act) compliance
" Actively take part in business development on behalf of the team and the Firm
" To maintain each client file and account in a proper manner in accordance with the requirements of the Firm to comply with the Law Society and ISO
" To arrange appointments and interview clients and others where necessary either directly, face to face or by telephone
" To maintain accurate Time Recording records in accordance with the Firm's policy

To be a successful Trusts and Personal Tax Executive you will have the following skills and experience:

" STEP membership (an advantage but not essential)
" ATT/CIOT qualification or other tax qualification
" Experience in trust and personal taxation, to include IHT, CGT and Income Tax and their relevance to Trusts and their administration.
" Knowledge of Taxation of Non-Residents Owning UK Assets
" IT literate - Sound working knowledge of Microsoft office, Word and Excel
" Flexible approach to work
" Good planning, organisation and time management
" Knowledge of the preparation of annual Trust Accounts
" Excellent internal and external client focus
" Sound written and oral communication including excellent telephone manner
" Proactive / Analytical
" Ability to work within tight timeframes and to meet deadlines
" Good personal/work organisation

In return, as a Trusts and Personal Tax Executive you will receive a salary of 35,000 - 40,000 per annum, 25 days holiday plus bank hols, life insurance and pension scheme.
