Our client in Bury St Edmunds is seeking a Conveyancing Assistant to join its team.
As the Conveyancing Assistant you will work alongside the fee earner to help expand and enhance external client focus as appropriate.
Your duties and responsibilities will include:
" Take instructions or messages from clients and pass on to fee earner
" To prepare and monitor action plans/timetables
" To maintain efficient diary system using outlook/Solcase highlighting milestone dates on each matter
" To effectively use bring forward system in Solcase
" To ensure all letters and communication are completed accurately and on time
" To maintain filing system in an orderly manner to ensure correct conduct for client files
" To ensure all files are opened and closed correctly
" To assist with the maintenance of each client file in a proper manner in accordance with the requirements of the Firm and Law Society
" To arrange appointments and interview clients and others as appropriate using Outlook
" To maintain each client file with a copy of typed documentation in a proper manner in accordance with the requirements of the firm and the Law Society. This involves maintaining the filing system for the fee earner in conjunction with the secretaries and keeping all necessary records for the conduct of the matters and files being dealt with by the fee earner.
" To chase liaise with clients and other parties such as Estate Agents for key information for file matter
" To effectively build relationships with clients and other parties such as Estate Agents
" Complete and follow up on all documents in relation to accounts, cheque acquisitions and banking for client matters
" To prepare forms and paperwork necessary for client files
" To carry out additional duties to assist the department including business development and marketing initiatives
" To comply with Firms policies and procedures as laid out on the Firms intranet
" Flexibility is required in order to support the Residential Conveyancing Team and carry out any reasonable duties as may be directed by the Partners or Management of the Firm

To be a successful Conveyancing Assistant you will have the following skills and experience:
" Proven experience with residential conveyancing essential
" Paralegal qualifications/experience, within residential property
" Computer literate. Sound knowledge of Microsoft Office, primarily Word
" Experience in a process driven environment
" Planning, organisation and time management
" Sound research skills eg Richard Grey reports, Land Registry Portal, Inland Revenue etc
" Keen enquiry skills, good follow up
