Records Manager, Coventry

Required to work for a West Midlands local authority for a minimum of 3 months. You will be responsible for Document and Records Management across the authority, and to develop and manage systems to support this and to play a strategic role in raising awareness of the importance of Document and Records within the Information Governance Team. Duties will include:
Ensuring support for Authority's operational services and regulatory compliance, manage integrated system e.g. referencing, storage, retrieval, transfer, security and disposal.
Working with others to identify corporate and business continuity risks, designing and delivering organisation wide programmes of records management, and developing and delivering Policies, guidance and training for officers in document and records management.
You will require:
A sound understanding of current records management professional practices and standards (including ISO15489), especially electronic records.
The ability to communicate effectively, work collaboratively and in partnership internally & externally in the public sector to influence and provide service delivery and also ability to deliver presentations.
To be an assertive and effective negotiator, able to advocate for Records Management at the highest levels within the Council.
Experience of maintaining Information Asset Registers & Information Risk Registers, and experience of developing and delivering records management strategies.
A relevant qualification in records management, educated to degree level or equivalent
A track record of developing innovative and workable solutions
The ability to design and deliver a performance management framework for document and records management
A demonstrable track record of effectively managing resources, performance, priorities and projects.
