SEN BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT- LONDON BOROUGH OF HAVERING
The Education Network is looking for SEN Learning Support Assistants for Havering. You will need to be experienced in handling challenging students with experience in any of the following Behaviour, Emotional and Social Difficulties (BESD), Social, Emotional & Mental Health (SEMH), Autistic Spectrum Condition (ASC) you will be working in small classes with students in Key Stage 1 (KS1), Key Stage 2 (KS2), Key Stage 3 (KS3) or Key Stage 4 (KS4).

SALARY -£14,625 - £18,525 for permanent SEN Teaching Assistant. Contracts. £75.00 - £95.00 per day for long term supply.
KEY STAGES - Key Stage 1, Key Stage 2, Key Stage 3 or Key Stage 4 (KS1, KS2, KS3 or KS4)

OUR CLIENTS - SPECIAL EDUCATIONAL NEEDS SCHOOLS (SEN) - HAVERING
We work with a number of SEND schools including Pupil referral units (PRU's) and Independent Alternative Educational Provisions. We can offer you Contracts, Long Term Supply and Permanent positions. We have immediate starts and have both full and part time SEND positions available.
THE ROLE - SEN BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT ASSISTANT
We have great opportunities in Hornchurch, Upminster, Rainham and neighbouring areas to contribute to the lives of children and students with ASC/BESD/SEMH and school refusers.
You will need to be passionate about Special Educational Needs (SEND) and be able to see past the barriers to learning. You will be expected to give appropriate feedback and maintain records of pupils' progress and development. The successful SEN teaching assistant will be required to prepare pupils for qualifications and external examinations. Liaising with other professionals, such as medical staff, careers advisers, educational psychologists, social services and education welfare officers.
SEN BEHAVIOUR SUPPORT ASSISTANT SPECIFICATION
You will need to be an experienced Teaching Assistant who has experience of working with either Primary or Secondary aged students Key Stage (KS1) Key Stage (KS2), Key Stage 3 (KS3) or Key Stage 4 (KS4) who have statements for any of the following ASC/BESD/SEMH or school refusers.
You must be able to remain calm when the need arises and have excellent negotiation skills.
You will need to have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships quickly with students and their families and have previous experience of working with this client base. The ability to see through challenging behaviour, be able motivate and inspire reluctant and struggling students coupled with the ability to differentiate work and use students interest's to build innovative and creative lesson is an advantage.
A recognised qualification in de-escalation and restraint such as PRICE, Team Teach, SCIP or MAPA is desirable but not essential.
