Job Description

Are you looking for a new opportunity as Credit Controller Supervisor for a leading professional services provider in central London?

My client is a well established leading independent accountancy practice with 10 offices across the UK and overseas. The firm has up to 70 partners and nearly 450 employees. They specialise in a wide range of expert financial, tax and business advice to an adverse client base focusing on a variety of commercial sectors and organisations. The firm focuses on advising owner-managed businesses in a variety of commercial sectors, wealthy individuals, families and trusts, sports and entertainment, charities, other not-for-profit organisations and landed estates. Furthermore, they have also received an award, for the thirteenth year running, from the Corporate Research Foundation for being one of UK's Top Employers. They are currently looking for an experienced senior credit controller to join the finance team, offering a friendly and supportive working environment. The job holder will be responsible for the
running of the Credit Control function, supervising one other credit controller.

Main duties:

Manage and motivate the credit control team, ensuring that the firm's credit control policy is adhered to.

Maximise cash collection; reduce 90 days debt and manage risk to minimise exposure to the firm.

Ensure that all receipts are posted on the day of receipt or the day following and keep unallocated cash to a minimum.

Communicate with client by telephone, email or letter as appropriate.

Keep detailed notes within the Credit Control System of actions taken and responses from clients or partners.

Supervise the production and distribution of monthly debtor statements for all offices.

Supervise the maintenance of the credit control exemption system, including the production and distribution of a monthly exemption report for use by senior partners.

Manage and provide advice and guidance on all legal proceedings.

Deal with customer queries in a timely manner and escalate to relevant partner where appropriate.

Follow up with partner to ensure that queries have been dealt with.

Have regular meetings with partners as requested.

Assist in the implementation of a new improved credit control module and related new procedures.

The Individual:

Will have a successful track record managing a credit control function. Experience of working within a professional services environment would be advantageous but not essential. In order to manage their own workload, prioritisation and organisational skills are essential to ensure all deadlines are met and individuals must be able to work on their own initiative in this respect.

The successful candidate must have an excellent telephone manner, be well spoken and articulate to converse with clients and partners. A lot of time will be spent talking to clients on the telephone, so confidence and the ability to ask open-ended' questions in a professional, diplomatic and friendly manner is essential. The individual must be able to think quickly and make decisions under pressure.

An understanding of credit control systems will be needed. Our practice management system, Advance, is used by the firm as its credit control system. Training will be provided on this. Excellent written skills are also required as part of his/her time will be spent writing to clients and solicitors.

With this role, come the pre-requisites that the candidate is motivated, committed and flexible with the ability to meet deadlines. A natural team player is essential, with a positive and enthusiastic attitude.

If you feel this is the right opportunity for you then please do get in touch ASAP!

Candidates must be eligible to work in the UK full time without restriction.

Due to the high volume of applications we receive it is not always possible to respond to unsuccessful applicants. Therefore if we have not responded to your application within five days please assume that on this occasion your application has not been successful.
