Network Healthcare are currently recruiting for a Child Protection Conference Chair for the Children services to be based in Buckinghamshire. This is a fixed term contract.

The role Child Protection Conference Chair will involve joining a busy, fast paced team whose paramount objective is to promote good practice in the areas of child protection, and all care planning for children.

It takes the expertise of many professionals to assess vulnerable children properly. Our dedicated Child Protection team works in collaboration with a range of partners to make sure we reach the right decisions. We are looking for a Child Protection Chair to chair Child Protection Case Conferences and to promote good practice in the areas of child protection, and all care planning for children.

The main responsibilities of the post include but are not limited to:

Work with all relevant colleagues towards continuous improvement in processes and practice required to successfully safeguard children.

To manage each individual Child Protection conference process in consultation with the social work team and other agencies and lead the decision making about Child Protection Plans.

Monitoring individual Child Protection Plans for children by ensuring oversight of their progress between Reviews and bring to the notice of the relevant Social Care Manager, or relevant managers from other agencies, any shortfalls in practice or resources.

Leading the decision making about Child Protection Plans, including the formulation

of the CP Plan in the initial conference, and subsequent Review Conferences.


Undertake such work as may be determined by Divisional Directors and Divisional

Managers from time to time, up to or at a level consistent with the primary purpose of

the role.

To carry out all duties and responsibilities with reasonable care for the health and

safety of you and any other persons who may be affected by your acts or omissions

at work and to co-operate fully with the County Council in health and safety matters.

To be considered for this role you must have a diploma in social work or equivalent qualification and be registered with the HCPC. An excellent skill in communicating with children and young people and knowledge of current legislation is relevant to this post, and Children's Services. The ability to chair meetings in a child centered way with parents and other agencies and well as the ability to produce reports and plans, under the pressure of time constraints, using IT, and the formats required.

To recognize the high demand for your skills the salary we currently offer includes a 6% market factor enhancement (Range 7 to Range 10). Additionally, you will receive a Golden Hello payment of 2125 upon the successful completion of your probationary period, a crucial to post car allowance of 300 per annum paid monthly, a safe haven car allowance of 300 per annum paid monthly for front facing roles, a Relocation Allowance up to 8K, free car parking, regular supervision, supportive management team. Please note this market factor enhancement is reviewed each year. Salary from 46,007 to 51,067.
