The ideal candidate will have a SENCO qualification as well as very recent and valid experience working within Special Educational Needs, specifically with a range of age groups up to KS4 as well as working with multi-agencies. Being the schools Special Needs Coordinator you must have a huge passion to want to develop and benefit the lives of special needs pupils as well as possessing the appropriate skills and qualities to show inspirational leadership, great organisational and interpersonal skills to lead your team efficiently. In this particular school the SENCO is not required to teach directly, however you must be able to model good practice and will be required to support the SEN pupils in outside activities including interventions.
