Maintenance Technician, Didcot

What is the purpose of the role?
We are looking for a Maintenance Technician to work on a temporary basis (minimum of 3 months) for the UK's largest water and Sewerage Company based at the Didcot Sewage Treatment Works.
The role of the Maintenance Technician is to perform a range of assigned front line activities including testing, routine checks, maintenance and problem solving to ensure that services are delivered to time, cost and quality standards. In some cases, this may include planned and preventative maintenance of equipment to support the operation of the plant.
What will this role involve?
This role will involve, but not be limited to:
Accurately reporting faults and recording work and asset information to improve business performance using the handheld device.
Highlighting and reporting hazards, near misses and incidents; making the area safe with a minimum of 2 hazards reported per technician per month, escalating any issues to your line manager as soon as possible.
Making sure the work area and tasks have a risk assessment including a SHE 5 completed for all job activities.
Carrying out driver training as requested by line management and fleet, immediately reporting vehicle damage and incidents in order to avoid any issues.
Having an awareness of budget position and how unplanned events can impact on the budget (e.g. tanker/plant/pump hire, etc.)
Providing technical assistance and guidance to new starters and technical trainees as well as existing colleagues.
Attending all team meetings, engaging with safety briefings and company communications, identifying issues and raising constructive feedback with the management team, with suggestions for improvements
Typical working hours will be Monday to Friday working 38 hours a week; 07:30 - 15:30
What are we looking for?
We are looking for someone with relevant industrial experience ideally in processing/engineering environment. You will have basic literacy and numeracy skills and must be prepared to be trained in safety procedures including Confined Space Entry. Some computer data input /enquiry experience is desirable. Due to the nature of the role a full, valid UK driving licence is required.
This role is based at Didcot Sewage Treatment Works with an hourly wage of £10ph
