Team Leader

This role is based in Reading, working 36 hours a week. We are offering a salary of up to 15 per hour, depending on skills and experience.

What is the purpose of this role?

Our client, the UK's largest water and wastewater provider has a vacancy within their Developer Services team for a Team Leader.

This challenging position will play a key role in managing and leading a team, acting as a point of contact and ensuring that day to day processes and communications are carried out effectively to meet team objectives in delivering the teams revenue and 'unaccounted for water' target.

As the Team Leader, you will actively monitor and report performance and ensure delivery to targets. Liaise and promote co-operation within the team and with other business units in order to improve processes and development of best practices. Contribute and undertake a learning process to aid improvements to customer service and that staff are fully trained and skilled and aware of their role and service we provide. Undertake queries and analysis for water usage and associated data from other sources. Where appropriate, to negotiate and agree project deliverable with clients and to plan and implement project specific actions.

Main Accountabilities/Outputs

Communicate with customers and use analysis to understand their needs and identify opportunities to improve current processes.
Support, facilitate or manage the implementation of local or corporate initiatives.
Training and Guidance for junior team members
Induction of new team members.
Lead and co-ordinate the team to ensure that individuals are equipped to perform effectively. Input to people management processes as required.
Identify and commission contractors, monitor and manage performance and build cooperative working relationships.
Manage health and safety in line with company and statutory procedures in order to minimise risk.

What skills are we looking for?

We are looking for an experienced Team Leader who possesses commercial awareness and is flexible in their approach. You will have a high level of customer focus and determination to ensure customer excellence is delivered at all times
The ideal candidate will have strong time management skills, matching plans whilst retaining flexibility and possess the ability to proactively coach and assist team members. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are vital for this role and you must have a high standard of both verbal and written communication skills. You will be fully competent at using the appropriate Company IT systems and office software.
