Job Description

Project Manager required for a major subcontractor, to work on their iconic roofing projects, in various locations throughout London.

Report to Project Manager / Senior Project Manager / Project Director / Associate Operations Director (as defined per Project Organogram).

Responsible for Project Teams including Project Managers, Construction Managers, Estimating, Planning, Design, Procurement, Installation and Commercial.

Liase with Internal – Manufacturing, Finance and Administration. External - Client Team, Suppliers and Sub-Contractors.


Implement defined Safety Culture and procedures in addition to Behavioural Quality objectives for the company.
Actively contribute to the development of reporting staff and the Lindner Group as a whole.
Manage projects to successful conclusion in terms of safety, quality, programme, financial contribution and customer satisfaction.
Understand and support the implementation of commercial strategy in conjunction with the commercial management.
Manage, lead and develop the project team and create a team orientated and motivated environment.
Implement company systems & procedures to ensure delivery and continuous improvement in the performance of project teams.
Provide guidance and support to the sales and commercial team as required in the bidding and winning of new work.

Implement appropriate elements of the company Business Management System fully on site, and self-audit and monitor compliance regularly.
To lead by example, and to manage the completion our scope by direct action, using the prescribed tools and procedures to initiate decisions and corrective actions where necessary to ensure the route to this goal remains clear.
Actively be involved in the leadership of the site based project team.
Actively lead the completion of the written Monthly Project Report (MPR) and attend the scheduled meetings to discuss with the Board as required.
Lead regular project review meetings so that a clear understanding of the project position can be communicated to the line management team at all times. Must ensure minutes and actions are taken / allocated covering the following key areas.
Health, Safety and Quality standards. (RAMS, QITP, NCR)
Correspondence with client including progress reporting, commercial notices, RFI and instructions.
Progress against programme in design, procurement and delivery
Manage project resource, in conjunction with the site based management team.


Develop well motivated and successful project teams.
Define and delegate the project delivery roles and responsibilities to the appointed team, and ensure key deliverables are completed both accurately and regularly.
Ensure that work is at all times carried out safely and in compliance with the health, safety and environmental management policies.
Implement defined safety culture and procedures – lead the safety improvement team at project level.
Monitor each project phase and initiate corrective measures where necessary.
Maintain regular communication with the Client team to ensure their satisfaction.

Projects & Tendering

Be fully conversant with the detailed scope of works, performance specification, programme and cost plan.
Set out the project plan to ensure technical risk and programme are properly controlled (off site testing, prototypes etc.).
Implement inspection and test plan with clarity on benchmark objectives and Behavioural Quality objectives.
Develop and maintain relationships with planning, estimators, design, technical quality team, buying and commercial to assist the team with successful project delivery.


Ensure that a team ethos is maintained at all times.
Ensure that timely and accurate reports are submitted.
Maintain an efficient working relationship with support functions within the company.
Work to ensure the relationship with the client remains positive at all times, and endeavour to deal with their frustrations in a collaborative manner if they arise.

The main responsibilities of the post will be reviewed on a regular basis, in consultation with the post holder, to meet the changing needs of the Company in line with the Company’s Strategic Plan and the Business Management System.


HND or degree in Construction or engineering related disciplines – civils or design.
Construction Site Safety manager’s Course.
CSCS – Manager
CITB Management training
Demonstrate knowledge in health and safety awareness and approach.
Extensive roofing project management experience
Experience as Construction Manager on roofing projects
Awareness of business and commercial issues affecting the company.
Awareness of products and legislation affecting relevant section of industry.
A good understanding of contractual legislation/ responsibilities.
High standard of literacy and numeracy.
Computer literate.
Programming/planning experience.
Ability to work under pressure without supervision, and to use own initiative and experience to fulfil company commitments.
Clear and logical approach to resolving problems, with ability to work within guidelines and systems.
A team leader able to communicate effectively.
Ability to anticipate a potential problem and deal with effectively.
Ability to represent the business in a professional manner.
Ability to work and support within a cross departmental delivery team.
Ability to liaise directly with management level of client teams.
