Job Description

As a SEN Teaching Assistant you will be pleased to know that the ethos of the school reflects the importance that they place on academic, social and emotional development. Their emphasis is on developing individual potential whilst fostering caring and positive attitudes.

You will possess a progressive approach to education which enhances the learning experience of your pupils. You should be able to confidently communicate to both staff and children and display a comprehensive knowledge of the curriculum.

Part of your SEN Teaching Assistant role will include receiving dedicated support from a SENCO who will be there to support you from your first day. Your SEN Teaching Assistant duties will take you into the SEN department where you will join in proving support and mentorship to the school's Special Educational Needs pupils. To gain the most from your placement you will work with a range of teachers and pupils. You will have the responsibility of welcoming the wide selection of CPD and training courses that the school has on offer to not just teachers but all the support staff as well.

To apply for this position the ideal candidate will be:

- Level 3 qualified
- Have a least 6 months experience in a PRU environment
- A full valid DBS, preferably on the update service
