Pertemps Medical in Loughton, Essex, volunteer at the PDC World Darts Championship at Alexandra Palace each year to raise money for children’s hospice, Haven House.
Six volunteers from the branch give fans at the Championship the chance to win tickets to the final as they play their own mini game of darts. Customers pay £2 to throw six darts and the highest scorer of the night wins the tickets. All money goes toward Haven House.
Pertemps Medical Manager, Garry Marshall, said, “We take on average £1000 a night which is fantastic for Haven House. We supply around six volunteers to cover all the sessions which is for 12 days around the Christmas period.
“It is a long night every night as we do our work here at Pertemps and then start at 6pm until midnight at the event, but as always it is for such a great charity.”
As well as the annual Darts Championship, Pertemps Medical’s Managing Director, Daren Reisman, has taken part in an array of challenges for charity, ranging from abseiling, winning a white-collar boxing match to zip wiring across the Grand Canyon.
Well done to the team at Pertemps Medical, keep up the good work!
