Team Blind Dave’s Escape from Colditz | Pertemps

Over the years Pertemps has sponsored Black Country legend ‘Blind Dave’ Heeley on numerous fundraising exploits and it’s time once again as ‘Blind Dave’ goes on a ride of a lifetime taking on an 800-mile cycle ride from Colditz Castle, Germany to the Hawthorns, West Bromwich.

Dave and his team of escape artists will break out of Colditz Castle, a famous POW camp during World War Two on 19th April 2020.

Dave and his team will be carrying out 7 days of gruelling cycling through the mountainous German countryside, tracing the river Rhine, then through the hard-flat slog of the Netherlands to the ferry at the Hook of Holland.

Once back in the UK, the team will travel from Harwich to Peterborough then onto our Pertemps Head Office, where they will be joined by fellow cyclists and visit the National Cyclists Memorial to remember the fallen in World War One, then onwards home to the Hawthorns, finishing on 25th April.

Next year marks 75 years since the formidable Colditz Castle was liberated in April 1945 by U.S troops, so in recognition, Team Blind Dave are aiming to raise £75,000 to support the Albion Foundation.
