Pertemps is the UK’s largest privately-owned recruitment agency with over 200 offices across the country. It regularly supports charitable and community initiatives and this year put charity recipients to an employee vote.

Muna Chauhan at Zoe’s Place said:Pertemps has made a huge difference with this donation. Our crucial services to support babies and infants with life-limiting illnesses would not be possible without donations from businesses and individuals so I cannot thank the employees of Pertemps enough for everything they’ve done to raise this money.”

Pertemps Chairman Tim Watts said: “Pertemps recognises that it has a corporate responsibility to uphold but it is very much more than that: we are a business with a heart. Our employees astound me time and time again with the lengths they’re prepared to go to in the pursuit of helping others. I can speak for all of us when we say that all charities are worthwhile, but we have been touched by the stories we have heard about this particular two charities.”

Ward 19, Heartlands Hospitals £8,262, will assist refurbishing their specialist cancer unit. They have a fundraising target of £1.1m this year and rely on donations from individuals and businesses, due to limited funding provided by NHS.

Sian Averill at Heartlands Hospital said: “We are currently refurbishing the ward; everyone who visits the ward will say what an amazing service we provide and how exceptional our staff are in what they do. However, we want people to walk into the ward and be greeted by more warming surroundings, enjoy comfy chairs where they can sit and relax and make the most of refreshment facilities.”

Leslie Lambert, Pertemps Network Group charity committee member, said: “We have been raising money as a charity for eight years and, at the start of this year, asked all of our employees to put forward names and vote for our chosen charities. Ward 19 and Zoe’s Place came out on tops.”
