Congratulations to our Chairperson Carmen Watson who received the Lifetime Achievement Award at the REC IRP Awards in London.
This follows her amazing achievement winning the Director of the Year Award in the West Midlands from the Institute of Directors earlier this year.
Carmen said: “I am utterly surprised and over the moon to receive the Lifetime Achievement Award from the REC. I wasn’t expecting this at all and I am honoured that the REC recognises me as an inspiration and leader in the industry.”
The annual IRP Awards celebrate and recognise the best in the industry, with the cream of Britain’s recruitment professionals and companies awarded for exceptional work. Unmatched in prestige, the IRP Awards are the only recruitment sector awards hosted by the REC, the professional body for the recruitment industry.
The IRP Lifetime Achievement Award is awarded only to recruitment professionals who exceed expectations and industry standards. This accolade bestows recognition unlike any other industry award, marking the winner out as an industry leader and a true inspiration.
Neil Carberry, CEO at the Recruitment and Employment Confederation, said: “It was a huge pleasure to present the IRP Lifetime Achievement Award to Carmen Watson last night. A richly deserved recognition of someone who has lived the story of our sector and been critical to turning Pertemps into a market leader across the country.”
Winning an IRP Award is the most impressive industry recognition to achieve and is unique in raising awareness towards the positive role models whose exceptional work, candidate care and client relations set the bar for all recruitment professionals and businesses to aspire to.
Tracy Evans, HR and Quality Director at Pertemps, said: “There is no doubt that Carmen wholeheartedly deserves the Lifetime Achievement Award. Throughout her career she has dedicated herself to Pertemps and the recruitment industry and has been particularly active in pushing for equality and diversity to be at the forefront of company policy. She is a true inspiration to her peers and embodies everything this award is about."
Carmen has been with the business since the 1970s, rising through the ranks after joining the company as a Secretary. Carmen joined the Board of Directors aged 30 and has always been a staunch advocate of equality and diversity, wholeheartedly believing that everyone should have equal opportunity to shine and progress.
Huge congratulations to Carmen from everyone at Pertemps!
