Network Group, Click Digital, have made the shortlist of The Drum Recruitment Business Awards in the Best Campaign category with the help of the Pertemps Network Group marketing department.
The awards, back for their 15th year, reward excellence in recruitment across business and creative. They are advocates of effective advertising campaigns and each year seek out the very best in the industry to reward their efforts.
The marketing team took on the challenge of designing a whole attraction campaign ready for the rebrand of Click’s new website. They came up with the ‘Konami Code Competition’ to attract tech-savvy candidates to search and apply for jobs.
The aim was to target qualified candidates nationwide with the right mindset for the digital world through the online campaign and email marketing.
So, how did it work? Users who landed on Click Digital’s homepage had to ‘break’ a code to reveal a secret page. If successful, users filled out a form for a chance to win a VR headset. The secret code was the ‘Konami code’ found in 80s and 90s classic video games and graphics were created to look like the Street Fighter game.
Months of planning and hard work resulted in outstanding responses and feedback from candidates; and an award nomination for Best Campaign! The efforts of the marketing team show how a creative campaign can result in brilliant attraction and retention of new candidates.
The awards event takes place at the Midland Hotel in Manchester on Thursday 7 September. Fingers crossed the team return with some positive news. Well done to PNG marketing and Click Digital!
