Pertemps has been officially recognised as having one of the most outstanding female entrepreneurs in the UK logistics industry.
Sam Earl, the Pertemps Gloucester & Driver General Training Manager, was named as being one of the top three managers in the industry at the 2016 FTA Everywoman in Transport and Logistics Awards.
The ninth annual prestigious awards, which celebrate women who have really shone in their careers whether as rising stars at the beginning of an exciting career journey or in a senior role, took place in May at the London Hilton.
Sam was nominated by her employees for the Leader of the Year Award category due to her outstanding achievements and career progression within Pertemps.
Among other great accolades, Sam, 30, built her Gloucester branch team from scratch in her early twenties, developed and implemented the Pertemps leading driver training division and created the equally recognised driver training academy.
Speaking after the event, Sam said:-
“Being selected as one of the final three from hundreds of nominees came as a total shock! What made this whole process even more special was that it was my own team that conspired to nominate me!I feel overwhelmed that my own career has lead me to be an ambassador for other women in the industry. Through my passion to be in recruitment, I fell into the logistics arena 12 years ago and I have thoroughly enjoyed the journey so far!I am sure my time with Pertemps would be far less successful if it wasn’t for supportive managers, who have consistently backed me from my first role as Branch Manager of Gloucester at the age of 22.However most importantly, I share this recognition with all my team who work so hard to bring all the ideas to fruition, and are always right by my side believing in the strategy. I am truly humbled.”
Sam joined twenty two of the most inspirational role models within the transport and logistics industry, who were invited to attend the special event.
