Meetings with your boss are the perfect opportunity to make sure you’re on the right track and doing everything that is expected of you. If you don’t have goals and objectives from the start, don’t be afraid to take the reins and produce some of your own for your manager to approve.

To fully understand what your role entails and to settle into your new environment, it’s essential to immerse yourself in the company’s culture. Use the first few weeks to absorb everything that is going on around you, ask questions and look in detail at the company’s website.

Dress to impress

The few first weeks it’s all eyes on you! Before you start your job ask your hiring manger what the dress code is and stick to it. Whether it’s business formal, casual or corporate clothing – make sure you look the part!

Turn up on time

This is so simple but so important! There is nothing more embarrassing than turning up late on your first day of your new job. A couple of days before you start, it’s worth doing a test drive, checking out alternative routes and getting up earlier to give yourself plenty of time on the road to beat the traffic.
