JOB DESCRIPTION

A Warehouse Assistant provides essential support in the day-to-day operations of a warehouse, contributing to the efficient receipt, storage, and dispatch of goods. This role involves various tasks related to inventory management, order processing, and maintaining a well-organized warehouse environment.

QUALIFICATIONS

There are no formal academic entry requirements. Training is typically provided Off or on-the-job. NVQs/ in Warehousing and Storage are available at Levels 1, 2 and 3.

TASKS

  • Assist in maintaining accurate inventory records through regular stock checks..
  • Update inventory systems and databases with product information..
  • Pick and pack products based on customer orders or requisitions..
  • Ensure accurate labelling and packaging of items for shipment..
  • Receive incoming shipments, verify quantities, and inspect goods for damages..
  • Report any discrepancies or quality issues to supervisors..
  • Organize products in designated storage areas for easy accessibility..
  • Restock shelves and maintain a clean and orderly warehouse..
  • Operate warehouse equipment such as forklifts, pallet jacks, or hand trucks (if required)..
  • Conduct routine checks on equipment and report any issues..
  • Complete and maintain detailed records of inventory movements, including receipts and shipments..
  • Prepare shipping and receiving documentation in compliance with established procedures..
  • Communicate effectively with warehouse staff, supervisors, and other team members..
  • Provide updates on inventory levels, order status, and any issues affecting warehouse operations..
  • Assist in conducting quality checks on received and shipped items..
  • Report any quality issues and collaborate with relevant teams to address concerns..
  • Adhere to safety protocols and guidelines during all warehouse activities..
  • Report any safety hazards or incidents promptly..
