Hrs :- Full Time 37.5hrs (Mon-Fri)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Strategic Purchaser to join a leading international company, specialising in the sustainable energy industry.

As the Strategic Purchaser, you will be responsible for optimising the Weldments category, which consists of a significant number of parts and suppliers. You will also ensure that all KPI' and targets are achieved at supplier level, including safety, quality, delivery, contract compliance and cost.


As the Strategic Purchaser (Weldments), your duties will be:

" Manage own supplier portfolio - SRM, master data, supplier performance and contracts to include the sub categories: Bolts, Fasteners, Small Weldment and large Steel Structures.
" Support the Category Manager and Category Team from a commercial perspective.
" Lead RFQ processes and negotiations with suppliers.
" Support the development and execution of the sourcing strategy, supplier selection and cost reduction efforts.
" Support factory logistics purchasers and category purchasers in escalated delivery issues.

An ideal Strategic Purchaser (Weldments) will hold the following skills and experiences:

" Has excellent financial knowledge.
" Must have previous working experience within a similar role.
" Ideally hold a qualification in a relevant discipline.
" Excellent IT skills, especially Excel & PowerPoint.
" Have strong analytical skills with a solution-focused attitude.
" Have in-depth understanding of the value chain.
" Must be fluent in English
" Must be flexible, open minded and ability to work independently.


Your primary work location will be Warrington based, however you should expect 50-80 travel days per year.
