Job Title: Process Engineer
Salary: £32-35K p.a.
A leading automotive tier 1 organisation is looking to hire a hands-on Process Engineer or a skilled Maintenance Engineer looking to develop into such a role
Overview (Process Engineer) :
Increase company profitability and improve employee working conditions by studying, recommending and implementing changes to the manufacturing process.
Key Responsibilities (Process Engineer) :
o Responsible for quality issues on your facility
o Responsible for mentoring Operators and Maintenance to ensure your facility is kept to the original standard 4 hours every week
o Responsible for conducting risk assessments on equipment
o Responsible for updating setup and changeover instructions.
o Responsible for continuous improvements on new/existing equipment.
o Responsible for safety issues on the equipment.
o Responsible for time studies on manual processes and equipment.
o Responsible for updating Operator instructions.
o Responsible for updating Process Flow Diagrams.
o Responsible for updating PFMEA
o Responsible for updating packaging specifications
o Responsible for Saving and Achieving of Process Documentation.
o Responsible for reviewing the OEE data against equipment for cycle time
o Gather OEE data for facilities every month and review findings with Plant Manager, Engineering Manager and Production managers to prioritise improvement activity. Track top 3 priorities Bi weekly to show improvement
o Responsible for verify dummy parts for 1 facility per week
o Participate in continuous improvement program
o Work in a safe manner at all times
o Work in compliance and conform to TS16949 and ISO14001 standards
Person Specification :
o College Diploma or University Degree in Industrial or Mechanical Engineering, or strong experience in a related field or discipline.
o Good knowledge of production reporting systems and MRP in an automotive manufacturing environment.
o Good knowledge of Government legislation in the areas of Health and Safety, Environment, Employment Standards, Fire code etc.
o Good Technical Report writing abilities.
o Excellent problem solving techniques and methods.
o Ability to successfully interact with all levels of employees.
o Good Computer skills in spreadsheets, data bases, word-processing and CAD
