Part of a well respected international engineering firm, this organisation is setting up a new manufacturing facility on a 'green field site' to produce complex high value components for the automotive industry.

Job Title: Plant Operations Manager

As the Operations Manager you will lead the operational and implementation strategy for a new build factory and the industrialisation of complex and high value engineered products. As part of the senior leadership team you will focus the new factory, capex, business processes and staff recruitment and training in order to successfully launch the new products on time to n-line with sales growth whilst driving supplier performance and company profitability.

Reporting to the Managing Director, the Operations Manager will have responsibility for all operational aspects of the site including; manufacturing, procurement, planning, quality and HSE. With a focus on people development you will look to empower teams and create a positive and safe working culture.

The person
The successful candidate for the position of Operations Manager will have relevant working experience gained within a best practice production facility leading teams across production engineering, manufacturing and MP&L. You should be able to demonstrate improvements with plant volumes and supplier performance efficiency. Commercially astute and people focused you will have the experience of delivering organisational and people development which results in bottom line improvements.

You will ideally be qualified to degree level in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering or similar technical discipline. Additional leadership/ management or lean manufacturing training would be desirable.

Previous Senior Management and Leadership experience in an Operations Manager, Manufacturing Manager or Plant Manager role working within high value / complex engineering product assembly and test build of automotive components is deemed important to the success in this role. Previous experience of setting up new factories, transferring production or similar investment would be highly desirable.
