A successful manufacturing organisation with a stable business model, a healthy market share in their field and recent investment in capital equipment is now seeking a Manufacturing Engineer to help aid the growth of the business and bring fresh new ideas to the shop floor at their site in the West Midlands.

Position: Manufacturing Engineer
Salary: £32000
Location: West Midlands (Commutable from Dudley, Wolverhampton, Stourbridge, Kidderminster and Walsall)

About the Role

Reporting to the Operations Director the Manufacturing Engineer will:

o Develop, project manager and implement improvements in Production / Operations activities that lead to process improvements, higher quality and lower cost product.
o Work effectively across teams providing hands-on support in relation to operational support, plant layout re-configuration and process improvement projects.( Value Stream Mapping )
o Design of jigs and fixtures for welding and assembly cells
o Provide a common sense approach with delivery of a Lean tools and techniques including 5s and Poke Yoke.
o Implement robust, long term SOPs that ensure consistent quality and delivery for a global market.

About the Person

You already have some experience working as either a Manufacturing Engineer, Production Engineer or Process Engineer within production facility.
o Possess strong communication skills with the ability to drive change, implement improvements and engage with stakeholders across all levels of the business
o Possess strong demonstrable Mechanical Engineering knowledge and hold a HNC/Degree or equivalent in an engineering discipline
o Some knowledge or exposure to welding, machining and electro-mech assembly manufacturing processes
o Have strong IT competency and understanding of CAD software.
