This leading developer and manufacturer of safety critical components for a broad range of automotive OEMs are seeking a hands on Production Process Engineer from an high volume manufacturing background. As Process Engineer, you will support the improvement to all production processes, training and coaching staff in the technical team and operations team.
Production Process Engineer
Salary: £35000 - £40000
As Process Engineer, you will work in manufacturing supporting the improvement of the production processes and be instrumental in new product introduction and product launches on site.
o Prepare standard operating procedures for assembly processes
o Monitor cycle times, report anomalies through escalation
o Buy off new capital equipment approvals
o Lead the introduction of new products into production and engineering change
o Strive to improve processes through the application of kaizen and continuous improvement techniques to improve OEE.
You will already have several years experience working as a Production Engineer, Manufacturing Engineer or Process Engineer role working in a high volume manufacturing environment, ideally with some exposure to automotive manufacturing quality standards
o Knowledge of automated assembly processes incorporating PLC controls and robotics plus associated poka yoke systems
o Experience of metal fabrication and joining processes highly desirable: welding, laser cutting, stamping, riveting, adhesives etc
o Proven experience of problem resolution and corrective action
o Able to perform and analyse capability studies
o Ability to understand and implement process control in manufacturing
o Highly numerate with good analytical skills
o Ideally Engineering Apprenticeship and HNC/HND/Degree qualified in an engineering related subject or equivalent
