Due to exponential growth, a global automotive company with a new manufacturing site under construction, is currently seeking a Maintenance Manager to be responsible for establishing all new facilities, plant and automation for a complex production line.
(Green field site - Automotive/ automated production line including facilities)
Reporting to the Production Engineering Manager, this is a key opportunity to help develop and influence a growing business in the UK and also work on future powertrain technologies applicable to major OEM's. The Maintenance Manager will have considerable autonomy to deliver a project with support from a team of highly skilled engineers
o Specification and commissioning of facilities and production equipment for a new manufacturing plant to include power requirements, hydraulics, pneumatics, automation & controls
o Prepare costings for new capital equipment and conversion of existing facilities and machines
o Establish preventive maintenance of production equipment and spares requirement planning
o Attends to breakdowns, diagnoses faults, and oversees equipment improvements and time-critical repairs
o Recruit, train and manage a team of maintenance personnel
o Assists Facilities, Quality and Manufacturing Engineering on problem identification, trouble shooting and equipment issue resolution and repair
o Oversees spare parts inventory (including budget) and establish a computerised maintenance management system
Skills and Experience Required:
Applications are sought from experienced Maintenance Managers or Supervisors who are interested in setting up a new manufacturing facility and production line to produce complex automotive components.
o Apprentice trained/ HNC/ Degree education in Mechanical / Electrical Engineering
o Experience of automated production lines to assembly complex components, ideally automotive related
o Supervisory experience for a team of multi skilled maintenance technicians including skills development and training
o Contractor Management - Health & Safety, Permits to Work, Risk Assessments and Method Statements
o Maintenance Reliability Engineering - setting up preventative and predictive preventative systems and drive KPIs to manage OEE and machine downtime
o Expertise in electrical ( 3 phase ), hydraulics, pneumatics and PLC/ automation control systems essential incorporating both production machinery and plant facilities management
o Budget responsibility
o IT literate; SAP knowledge desirable
o Knowledge of automotive quality systems - TS16949, APQP, FMEA
