Overview (Maintenance Manager):

A World leading Manufacturing business in the metals industries require a Maintenance Manager to continue driving forward it's successful Birmingham factory.

Role and Responsibilities (Maintenance Manager):

o The Maintenance Manager will be responsible for ensuring that the facilities, layout and machinery used to produce new and existing materials and goods run to their maximum efficiency and output.
o Managing Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM), managing breakdowns of mechanical, electrical and robotic equipment (including software programming).
o People management and budgetary/cost reporting.
o Lead the site Maintenance function in providing both a reactive and proactive, multi-skilled maintenance service on all operational equipment and facilities infrastructure. o Responsible for planned scheduling creation and overseeing the adherence and timely completion of work carried out.
o Increase the site operational effectiveness (OEE)
o Improve on project delivery, mean time between failure (MTTF) and downtime reduction, and manage and implement improvement plans, driving Key Performance Indicators (KPI's) ensuring that Health, Safety and Environmental requirements are adhered to. o Manage the team on technical best practice and establish standard policies and procedures whilst also mentoring and leading the department.
o Implement and manage continuous improvement and modern manufacturing principals by highlighting deficiencies and recommending changes in training, working practices and processes.

Qualifications and Experience (Maintenance Manager):
o Relevant manufacturing/engineering qualification is required (HNC minimum)
o Extensive industrial plant level experience with significant proven man management experience
o Completed a fully indentured apprenticeship with a mechanical/ electrical/ electronic discipline
o Technical capability and understanding
o The candidate will be able to identify and select appropriate electrical control gear and transducers.
o The candidate will have a high level of computer literacy and be able to fault find on PLC and drive systems via computer aided devices.
o The candidate will be able to read and follow electrical wiring and schematic drawings, with the ability to build, modify, maintain and install electrical systems.
o Understanding of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP), lean manufacturing
o Experience of managing Profit and Loss (P&L) responsibilities for maintenance
o Understanding of manufacturing and procurement/supply chain
o Understanding of TS16949, IOSH/NEBOSH, ISO 14001
o Proficiency in Microsoft Office
