Job Details

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Machine Shop Supervisor to work for a company established in 1920 they are manufacturers of swivel bolts and chains in the Cradley Heath area.

Duties & Responsibilities

The day to day management and discipline of shop floor employees in-line with Company policy.

Organisation and supervision of machining and testing operations.

Setting up (and programming) CNC machines and conventional machines, for safe operation.

Provide instruction to operators on safe & correct methods of working for a particular product and a particular machine.

Ensure that shop floor areas are clean, tidy and safe for all staff and visitors and that all daily housekeeping routines are followed and completed.

Operation of CNC machines to produce Dies, Tools and special items and to cover for sickness & holidays.

Ensure all Health and Safety and Environmental legislation and procedures are adhered to by all shop floor staff and visitors.

Ensure that all operators adhere to safe working procedures using PPE and other safety equipment at all times.

All instances of un-safe practice are to be brought to the attention of the operator concerned and disciplinary action is to be taken in-line with Company policy as required.

Carry out daily checks on equipment/machine safety and serviceability.

Oversee the maintenance of equipment and that routine and preventative maintenance schedules are carried out to meet specified output and quality standards, maintenance and serviceability of all Jigs and Fixtures and development and improvement of new and existing jigs and fixtures.

Ordering of consumables within agreed budget.

Allocation of work to operators in accordance with works orders to ensure that machines, processes and times are correct.

Ensure that all staff adhere to hours of work and break times. And organisation of cover for shop floor staff during sickness and holidays as appropriate.

Maintain levels of efficiency, quality, costs and delivery within KPI targets.

Working 39 hours per week, Monday – Thursday 7:30 - 4:30 Friday 7:30 -13:30 In return they are offering £25,500 per year 36 days holiday.
