Location: Hitchin and working across group sites
Salary: Circa £34-42k

We are looking for an experienced Deputy Head of Curriculum to join one of the UK's most reputable colleges in Hitchin and surrounding areas.

In this role you will require a thorough understanding of quality processes with a focus on improvement in teaching, learning and assessment. You will be responsible for duties including:
- Manage quality processes and systems; course review, internal/external verification, student satisfaction, 3D learning and lesson observations
- Work with marketing, communications and events colleagues to define a clear proposition to individual students of all ages within the curriculum responsibility
- Teach a minimum of 340 hours on a range of courses within the subject of maths, English or Skills for Life as required, demonstrating high standards of teaching, learning and attainment
- Work with the Head of Curriculum and other colleagues to ensure the delivery of the college's model for teaching and learning is effective
- Work with the Head of Curriculum, and quality and innovation colleagues to create and deliver a personalised teaching and learning support plan for teaching staff
- Support the head of curriculum with the creation of the Self-Assessment Report (SAR) and the execution of the subsequent Quality Improvement Plan (QIP)
- Work with colleagues across the college to ensure we are providing necessary safeguarding support for students

Skills and experience required for the Deputy Head of Maths, English and Skills for Life:
- Track record of managing and/or implementing a range of quality processes and systems within a further education environment
- A strong course leader who delivers multiple and diverse teaching methods
- Experienced observer of classroom and workplace teaching, with experience of writing detailed reports and support plans
- An understanding of the development of a comprehensive, detailed and responsive further and higher education curriculum
- Good analytical skills with proven ability to use management information to identify issues and opportunities to drive quality and performance
- Good communication and presentation skills
