Our client, an engineering organisation based in West Northumberland is currently looking to recruit an IT Support Technician to join them. This role will initially be offered as a 3 month contract due to increase in workload, but may be extended to 6 months or even made permanent, depending on business needs.
The successful IT support technician will be the first point of contact for IT helpdesk requests and to support the smooth running of the company's IT systems.
Job Specific duties:
First point of contact for IT helpdesk requests
To work to installation procedures where applicable
To maintain backup system ensuring data integrity
Maintaining IT inventory and IT systems documentation
To install and configure computer hardware, operating systems, and applications
To install, configure and maintain server hardware and software infrastructure
To troubleshoot system and network problems, and diagnose and solve hardware and software faults
To provide technical support and advice to system users, including procedural documentation and relevant reports
To order IT consumable,replace parts as required and to manage stocks of equipment and IT supplies
To support the roll out of new applications
To set up new user accounts and profiles and deal with password and security issues
To test and evaluate new technology
To maintain the content on the company's Intranet
To maintain the company's telephone systems and company mobile devices
Candidates should have a minimum of two years' experience working in an IT Support environment.
Knowledge of ERP systems - ideally IFS - would be highly desirable
IT Qualification at NVQ Level 3 or equivalent
Good interpersonal skills
Ability to work across all levels of the business including liaising with Group IT in Holland
Organised and able to prioritise workload effectively
Able to work at any North East site, as required
Must possess a full, clean driving license.
Monday to Friday business working hours (some flexibility may be required), pro rata salary of up to £25k per annum, depending on experience, plus benefits.
