Pertemps Scotland Ltd are currently working with our public sector client based in Edinburgh City Centre to recruit for a Building Surveyor. This position is on a temporary, ongoing basis and will start immediately. You will be working 36 hours a week Monday - Friday. The rate of pay is £18.22 an hour.
The successful candidate will be working on a large, high profile, commercial project so you must have a proven track record. You must have a BSc in Building Surveying (or higher), have experience carrying out building condition surveys and formulating a programme of works on a large scale.
All details from the initial building survey will be entered on to the CAFM (Computer Aided Facilities Management) system. You will be responsible for taking the information from the CAFM system, checking the recommendations for required works in order to produce a programme of works that has to be carried out. You may be required to go on site and survey the building to check the information provided and recommendations are correct. You will then communicate this programme of works to the design team who will progress the project on to the next stage.
You should have experience of carrying out building condition surveys and analysing the data generated, formulating programme of works for large scale projects and an understanding of the associated Health and Safety risks that are associated. You should also have an understanding of how construction works. You should have good communication skills and be familiar with the SG Core Facts.
