Our client, a highly respected Higher Education establishment based in Glasgow, require an Events Assistant on a temporary assignment. The salary for the position is £9.50 per hour, working 35 hours per week Monday to Friday.
To provide professional administrative support to the organisation's events function, helping to build and enhance the brand and reputation and foster strong relationships with stakeholders, in support of key strategic objectives for both External and Relations and the organisation.
To promote events to alumni, donors, other stakeholders and the general public, segmenting and targeting using the DAO database (Raiser's Edge) as appropriate.
To produce event communications and promotional materials, including web notices, social media posts, design, production, delivery and distribution of brochures and event materials.
To maintain high-quality event management information including but not limited to updating participant information, compiling guest lists, organising guest travel, making provisions for special access requirements, producing table plans, name badges and registration lists.
To respond to event enquiries from internal and external participants and stakeholders, ensuring that enquiries are dealt with swiftly, courteously and to a satisfactory conclusion. Without upwards referral unless necessary.
To assist at events in the management of guests, volunteers and other participants to ensure events running smoothly and deliver identified objectives.
To provide reporting for senior staff on completed events, including event budgeting, attendance records and other information relating to event objectives.
To provide admin support to the Events Team, including diary and email management for Events Team.

Good IT skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office
Strong understanding of the role and use of social media for customer engagement and marketing
Ability to work effectively as part of a dynamic team
Knowledge of T4 or equivalent web content management system
Knowledge of health & safety requirements for events
Proactive interest in and awareness of digital marketing and new technologies
Knowledge of Raisers Edge or equivalent CRM/ event management software
