Job Details

NRS Foster Care Recruitment are working in partnership with a new private fostering agency. We are looking to recruit an experienced Agency Decision Maker. They anticipate that panel will be once a month to commence, however this may rise to two days or two evenings a month.

Safeguarding Children is central to the work of the fostering agency and the role of the ADM is significant in the sense that they are responsible for noticing any actual or potential safeguarding concerns, and must follow the companies policies and reporting procedures if they have any cause to be worried about a child’s well-being.

The successful applicant will need to have at least 3 years post qualifying social work experience at a senior level within a childcare setting.

We envisage the workload to be approximately one day a month, possibly rising to two days, therefore a good deal of flexibility is essential from the successful applicant.

Job Purpose:

To provide an independent service to the company, to oversee Panel’s recommendations to ensure that the decisions taken by Panel are accurate and safe.

To monitor the quality of evidence provided to Panel, and to ensure that it is at a correct and acceptable level.

The ADM will need to make timely, high quality and appropriate recommendations in line with the principle objective which is to promote the welfare of children.

The ADM will be responsible for reviewing the following decisions:

- New approvals
- Allegations
- Annual reviews
- Permanency placements

Essential for the job role:

- 3 Years post qualifying experience
- Enhanced DBS check or update service
- HCPC registration
- Ideally 2 years previous experience of the role
- Turnaround of 7 working days is required on all decisions
- An enhanced DBS check will be conducted on all Fostering Panel Members
