A fantastic opportunity is available for an Operational Workforce Planner to work on assignment at one of the UK's leading utility companies National Grid within Warwick.
We are looking for an employee to join our highly effective expanding team who show commitment and dedication to providing an excellent service as well as being tenacious and methodical at all times.
As a Planner, you will assist the Operational Planning team with prioritisation, resourcing and scheduling of the operational plan, ensuring that work targets are fully met within the department. You will also ensure that current year planning conflicts are prioritised and resolved effectively and efficiently at all times whilst monitoring progress against outcome targets within each zone, proactively resolving escalations.
A good, working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Outlook, Word and Excel skills (data interpretation, manipulation and pivot tables are beneficial within Microsoft Excel)
Experience of working within a previous Planning environment is essential. Preferably within an Operational environment.
Logical thinking with the ability to resolve problems quickly and effectively using your own initiative
Data input skills (speed and accuracy)
Good time management & prioritisation skills
An excellent communicator, able to work and adapt with different stakeholders.
Self-motivating, able to work alone and within a team.
Proven flexibility to adapt positively to change
Key Tasks within the role:
Assist in the development of a rolling and dynamic plan for all operational, unlicensed and capital works within a specified Zone; focusing on the Operational 0-1 year timescales. Prioritise all works to be delivered within the department
Confirm and share with wider business, the 90 day plan for which deliverability has been agreed.
Assist in the timely circulation of safety risk assessments where maintenance has been deferred to determine any mitigating actions which are require to meet area targets and ensure plan deliverability.
Work collaboratively with all National Grid delivery units to assist the co-ordination delivery of planned and unplanned work
Ensure all planning decisions are documented in the relevant systems and are communicated with reasoning to all relevant stakeholders
Work with process owners to drive improvements in the core planning process
Review and sign off demand at risk in a timely manner
Other duties as assigned to ensure operational compliance, safety and delivery within Substations or Overhead Lines
