Overall Purpose
The Internal Quality Assurer will be one of the key drivers in maintaining quality assurance in line with awarding organisation requirements and the new apprenticeship standards. The role responsibility will include supporting the integration of PL&S overall quality assurance policies and procedures, ensuring a consistent and high level of compliance and adherence is maintained. The role also entails the day to day management, measurement and monitoring of KPIs for a small team of occupationally competent Assessor/Trainers, together with managing an individual case load of learners.

Key Duties

• Allocate caseloads and monitor attainment rates Assessors/Trainers caseloads
• Monitor Assessors/Trainers in line with qualification and internal verification policy and support as appropriate
• Performance manage and monitor action plans for all Assessors/Trainers not meeting required company targets and KPI's
• Maintain internal quality assurance procedures as detailed within the Pertemps Learning & Skills internal qualification and verification strategy and policy
• Monitor over-stayers and any out of funding and implement action plans within allocated caseload of Assessors/Trainers
• Comply with all awarding organisation requirements in line with assessment policy and procedures
• Ensure that all internal verification records contain correct feedback as per Pertemps Learning & Skills internal quality assurance policy and procedures
• Complete & execute a regular sampling strategy and plan for learner files
• Organise regular monthly standardisation sessions as per meeting schedule
• Monitor suspensions/ planned breaks within allocated caseload of Assessors/Trainers and provide support to ensure that funding end date is not exceeded without achievement/completion
• Conduct regular graded observations for all new and existing Assessor/Trainers
• Develop and support all Assessors/Trainers towards attaining internal Grade 1 Outstanding
• Manage the quality assurance handover procedure/or caseload to ensure all portfolios are accounted for when Assessors/Trainers leave or on long term sickness
• Undertake delivery of training courses, subject to suitable accredited and non- accredited provision to the national Apprenticeship and NVQ standards
• Comply with and reinforce site health and safety policy and procedures for Apprenticeship delivery
• Ensure full adherence and compliance for all Assessors/Trainers with Safeguarding, Equality & Diversity and the Prevent agenda
• Collate ,Interpret and analyse course/programme trends and completions ,produce MI information
• Undertake any other task, deemed to be appropriate for this role, as directed the line manager.

Skills & Competencies
• Demonstrable track record of internal verification and delivery within the relevant subject sector area
• Working knowledge of using e-portfolio and embedding within assessment and training
• Knowledge of the OFSTED Common Inspection Framework and inspection regime
• Understanding of delivering robust quality processes for excellent delivery with high learner retention, achievement and success throughout the year, as well as meeting funding requirements
• Experience of coordinating assessment and internal verification activities and preparing teams for quality assurance to meet awarding body expectations
• Ability to handle multiple priorities, and manage teams and projects for on time on budget delivery of the highest quality standards
• Experience of reviewing and verifying embedded functional skills or stand-alone Maths, English and ICT
• Confident user of management information data to support the analysis((quantitative and qualitative) of issues and contribute to improvement planning
• Relevant and recent occupational competence within chosen subject sector area
• Holder of relevant training qualification; D34/A1/TAQA/V1 /PGCE/ CTTLS/DTTLS /Certificate in Education Training Foundation or equivalent
• Attainment of IOSH Managing Safely or equivalent or High level of H&S awareness
• Effective user of ICT including MS Word, MS Excel and email systems
• Highly developed communication skills (written and oral)
