Python Developer (Linux / JavaScript / NoSQL)

Salary - £highly Competitive + excellent company benefits

Permanent role based in Sheffield

My client is an award-winning CyberSec business based in the centre of Sheffield. They provide data security solutions to a range of clients and in the last 3 years have developed from a small company with big ideas, to having a headcount of over 120 people and multiple offices across the UK and America. The company offers a supportive and sociable environment with plenty of social activities including company funded team lunches and monthly activities. Employees also enjoy free breakfasts and fruit, and top end coffee!

You will become an integral member of a fast growing and collaborative Agile development team. You will be assisting in enhancing existing software, and delivering award-winning products. This role will include participation in application architecture design and writing high quality code, working closely with QA Engineers to ensure successful testing. You will be part of a team who are constantly seeking to improve the way the business works. You will also have the opportunity to mentor other more junior members of the team in your areas of expertise.

You will be a senior practitioner with a demonstrable track record of delivery who possesses strong algorithmic thinking skills and demonstrates a genuine love of programming and problem solving. Their software development teams operate across several offices, so it is important that you are comfortable working in a small team and collaborating remotely with overseas colleagues.

What will I need to succeed?

You will have had at least four years' commercial development experience using Python, Linux, JavaScript & NoSQL databases ideally MongoDB, and you will also have had experience working in an Agile environment.

Anything else?

It would be great if you've also had experience with Node and Docker (but this is not essential), and any personal programming projects and/or participation in open-source software development projects would definitely be of interest.

What rewards and benefits will I get in this role?

• 25 days annual leave (26 in your second year)

• Free breakfasts

• Monthly fully funded office socials (Trampolining, Bowling, Rounders, Sports Day, Pub Quiz, Board Games Night etc)

• Pension scheme

• BUPA Private Health Cover

• Cycle to work discount scheme

• Childcare voucher scheme

• Invite to the Annual Kick Off event in February (2x nights away in UK resort, team building activities, all meals and accommodation paid for)
