Critical Facilities Lead - Data Centre Operations - Reading
£48-60,000 + benefits
The Critical Facilities Lead will have overall responsibility for the management of the data centres and communications rooms, ensuring maintenance planning and adherence to procedures for operating efficiency.
You will take full accountability for critical facilities operational management and have an overall responsibility for managing the suppliers of the data centres and communications rooms and responsible for change assessments and approvals in and out of hours.
The critical facilities lead directs the supplier responsible for data centres and comms rooms, tier 1 support, incident and request management.
To develop an operational plan that is flexible in a changing environment. You will collaborate with the PMO to prioritize projects, deliverables and resolve competing access to resources.

This is a challenging role which requires you to help deliver next generation services to all our customers. You will be involved in continuously improving our service for our current and future long-term vision.
The critical facilities lead will be responsible for:
Managing and directing the suppliers responsible for data centres and comms rooms, Tier 1 support, incident and request management and providing effective governance for suppliers and partners including addressing issues/concerns and providing solutions with favourable outcomes as required.
Maintaining strong relationships with business leadership, ensuring daily technology service needs are met and issues resolved.
Partnering with colleagues and managing suppliers in delivering transformation whilst
acting as project governance for service management, solution and continuity design.
Making and developing recommendations, refine and own CSI delivery plans, providing monthly management information to enable decisions that drive the highest levels of service within the timeframes and budgets agreed.
Risk Management, working in collaboration with the operational risk manager to manage business area operational risks and proactively mitigate against, resolve and report on service delivery risks and issues.
Demonstrate commercial awareness in achieving goals with fit for purpose tools and identifying corrective actions to ensure service meets or exceed the SLA's.
The critical facilities lead with be responsible for the critical facilities budget and will collaborate with PMO to prioritize projects, deliverables and resolve competing access to resources.
We are looking for someone with an education to degree or level equivalent with ITSM-ITIL foundation as minimum.
The right candidate will have a significant amount of IT management experience within an large IT organisation and detailed experience of service delivery within an a complex matrix IT operational environment.
You will have excellent interpersonal skills and be fully experienced at dealing with stakeholders. Essential skills are around service delivery, operational support, risk management service management and stake holder management.
Experience in critical facilities (data centres and comms rooms) DR and business continuity, optimisation and prioritisation in facilities. Experience in ensuring a fully documented and compliant data centre and comms rooms in line with applicable ISO standards, architecture and security standards would be excellent.
Experience in optimal monitoring, alerting, threshold setting from a critical facilities perspective would be very beneficial.
The ideal applicant will be a self-motivated individual with the ability to deliver under pressure using excellent planning, organising and communication skills.
This is a 2 year Fixed Term contract based in central Reading with excellent salary and benefits.
